week 24.

This past weekend I was able to go on a little maternity shopping spree. I really didn't go too crazy..just a few essentials..which totally adds up! I have really felt like I don't have much clothing that will fit me much longer. Last weekend I was SO excited to be able to go to Target, Old Navy, and Gap to get some things. I seriously had so much fun and feel so much better about myself and being cute and pregnant and just comfy. Although the guy at the register was rather weird. He was making small talk and at one point said "It looks like you had some milk or something today." Of course, I freaked out in my mind and thought, gosh, did I start lactating already!?! HA! I looked down and had spilled water on my shirt...oh my gosh!!! How embarrassing for him!

I am now done with jogging in my pregnancy. I haven't been jogging as much but tried this past week and I immediately felt pressure in my lower abdomen [as well as an urgency to pee!]. Walking is fine with me and it is great to get out on the trails surrounding camp. I am just in awe of nature!

I am also wanting to do more prenatal yoga. I have done it a little bit and have loved it. I initially was turned off to it because it is SO long but I don't do the whole thing.

We had a doctor's appointment this week. We have a healthy baby with a strong heartbeat. YEAH! In the next couple of weeks I need to go in for my glucose screening test...oh boy! We also got a packet of information - birth plan questions, how to tell if you are having a contraction, pediatrician info., etc. I feel like my boobs haven't grown at all and was a little worried that I would have a hard time breastfeeding. My midwife said not to worry as even women who are small chested can breastfeed just fine. Whew!

Another thing is that I feel like I am starting to sit so un-ladylike! The other day I noticed I was sitting [for quite awhile] with my legs open...like a a boy! :)

week 23.

I kinda feel like I'm at a loss of words for this week. [plus it makes it so hard when I am blogging and am already 24 weeks! :)]

Unfortunately, I was unable to have Erica take my picture again so Andrew captured one outside of our house. At least the lighting is much better this time around!

I am sitting in Starbucks, waiting and killing time, as Andrew is doing interviews for camp staff this summer. There is a tiny tiny baby boy sitting to my left in his mother's arms and it just got me all choked up. That will soon be me and I can hardly wait. I am so excited to have a boy...especially since most of my friends/family have and are having a girl. I love it and I am so in love with him. I just looked over as she was just about to start breastfeeding..prefect timing, huh. It was a really sweet moment because the husband came over and held the blanket up as she was getting her boy to latch on. This may sound really weird that I am writing about this, but it was a sweet moment that I caught a glimpse of and a moment that I know Andrew and I will be sharing soon.

There wasn't too much of anything that happened last week. I have started subbing at work and it has been pretty good. You never know where you will placed until that 7:00am call or sometimes earlier. I've had some really fun kids and some crazy kids. I am trying to work most days for the money, but it's great to be able to have the freedom to say I'd like to stay home today.

We have our first shower in two weeks and I am so excited. Andrew's mom is throwing us a co-ed shower down in Temecula.

week 22.

This week was hard to get a picture because it was literally raining ALL week! Andrew ended up taking one here at camp but it's pretty dark...the only time it wasn't raining!

Overall, this week was a little depressing. I am not one to sit and dwell over this but I ate WAY too much chocolate/dessert. By the end of the week I had gained 2.5 pounds, where I HAD been gaining only a pound a week. I am sure it is a little bit baby and a little bit chocolate! Nonetheless, I was a little depressed yesterday and had a meltdown about how I just keep craving dessert items and don't seem to have self-control. [I mean come on..it just tastes SO good] Hopefully, our baby boy doesn't end up obese! :) ha! I feel like I have been a little more emotional too this past week!

I have been LOVING being pregnant. It is the most amazing thing ever to know that there is a human being growing inside of me...feeling his every move inside my belly...it's incredible! It is a miracle!

I have definitely felt him move more this week and seen my belly moving too. It is seriously the craziest thing ever.

What else? I am not a very good blogger. I think I need to write things down as they happen throughout the week. Well, my dog is driving me crazy..I must go.

Oh, please be praying for my friend Jamie who is due in less than a couple of weeks. She has been having some back pain and realizing that she is unable to even go for short walks. I hope she can have a great labor and not let the back ache be a bother during labor. Thanks for the prayers. See you next week!

I forgot to mention a few things from week 21. Andrew has now felt our baby boy on the outside. [i think it was a kick. maybe a flip? his dad is so talented at flips, so maybe.] The other thing is that I definitely need to start buying maternity tops/tanktops. I didn't even notice the other day when I was talking to Tim [maintenance guy here at camp] that my shirt/tanktop were riding up on me. [it was really just a little..but still!]

My mom sent us a package in the mail and in it were two thermal blankets and three onesies. Is that what you call long sleeve onesies with the feet in them? [i better get my terminology down! HA!] They are sooo cute!

The other picture is the outfits we bought right after we found out we were having a boy. Gosh, maybe I already posted them...pregnancy amnesia!?! The coat we got before we found out what we were having and decided it could be for a boy or girl, but now I am so glad we are having a boy because a little boy will look SO cute in that! Oh, I just love him so much.

week 21.

Usually I am fine when Andrew leaves to go recruiting. And I totally am this week. It just makes it harder being pregnant and all the emotions and hormonal changes going on inside of me. This week was pretty rough for me with work and I am so glad it is over. It was adding stress to me and the baby and I don't need that right now. I am excited to be able to stay home tomorrow and knit and sew for my little baby boy!

This week I have definitely felt the baby move around more. Or maybe it's the same, it just feels like more! :)

Fun Fact: I have always had a belly button where the end was never in site, BUT, yesterday was the first time I noticed that I could see it. It was so weird. [I really hope mine doesn't pop all the way out..I hear it doesn't happen to everyone!]

As I sit here and type this, my feet are aching and butt hurts a little too. Like I said, I am so glad to be done with this job. I was a one-on-one aide where we did lots of walking, especially today! Starting next week, I will be subbing from time to time. I think it will be a great balance because I won't be every day and I can begin my nesting. Is it too soon to begin nesting? We don't have a nursery we are setting up here, since we will be moving a couple months after the baby is born, so I need to put that energy into other things!

I need to be better about remembering the little things that happen in pregnancy throughout the week! That's it for now!

week 20.

week 20. [and...it's a BOY!]

Yes, we found out this week that we will be having a baby boy! We could not be more excited! Pee pee teepee's here we come! :)

Last weekend, Andrew and I went up to Dodge Ridge [near Yosemite] for the high school snow camp. It was so fun! All but two of my small group girls were there...we had a blast! On Saturday, we decided to go on an adventure. Well, I didn't think I'd go because well...I'm pregnant! I wanted to go take pictures of the girls sledding. We took a different route that was easier until we got to THE LOG! I wasn't gonna go across it, but then I thought why not? Everyone else is just scooting across..why can't I!?! I DID IT...both ways. And, I must add that on the way back I had our camera around my neck and the high school groups camcorder in my pocket. I didn't even rip a hole in my pants! :) It was definitely a fun adventure and here a couple of pictures to prove it!

Every time I left from the lodge to the bathroom or our cabin there was always one of my small group girls right there with me. [making sure I didn't fall of course] I think it was because of this "healthy" fear they had of Andrew and him making a comment to them about watching out for me and the baby! It was pretty awesome! [i even had one girl throw salt in front of me..ha!]

I use to be a person who loved snacks...and I still do, but, the desserts have far outweighed any kind of snack since I have been pregnant! I have to be careful. The doctor said my weight gain is right on track. Oh, last weekend I had the best compliment I have ever heard yet, since being pregnant. Someone told me that from the back you can't even tell I'm pregnant! I LOVE IT! :)

This week the baby is the size of a banana...so crazy! It was absolutely amazing to see our boy on the ultrasound. He did a couple flips for us and was moving around so much the ultrasound tech had to tell him to stop moving around. She sure had a funny way of telling us it was a boy. About 15 minutes into the ultrasound, she said there is the thigh, the other thigh, the butt, and there is the scrotum and penis! Well, ok..it must be a boy then! Andrew and I looked at each other and could hardly believe we were gonna have a boy! I definitely got teary eyed. [in the picture that says It's a boy, the thing coming out from in between his thighs is the umbilical cord!] The flutters feel more like butterflies in my belly each day!

This week was a great week! I have definitely felt a little more tired because I walk around so much at my job. My job might be changing a little bit too in the next few weeks. I will keep you posted on that! For now, enjoy the ultrasound pics!

thoughts on week 19.

Well, I was sick the whole week! It started at about 18.5 weeks and hasn't quite gone away yet. [pretty bad head cold with a bad cough...still coughing]

Still feeling the flutter feelings...it is absolutely amazing to feel the baby moving around!

There isn't much else for this week. Or maybe it is because it is already week 20 and I just can't remember! HA!

week 20 to come...
