Where I've been...

Oh my gosh, I have been horrible at blogging. I am going to try to be better at this - although I don't want to feel obligated to blog, but I would like to share more with my friends and family.

Thanksgiving was wonderful. We spent a whole week in Portland, OR! It was just what we needed to be with my family. I love them so much! Here are a few pictures to share.

After Thanksgiving we came back for not even 24 hours before we left for Napa Valley, CA for our 2 year anniversary. What an incredible place. We ended up going to three wineries and enjoyed every moment..I might have enjoyed it a little too much! (Sorry mom if you are reading this..haha) I can't believe it has already been two years - there have been ups and downs but it has been the best two years of my life. We both laughed at each others silly things and both just said the other day how well we really do mesh together. Love. Marriage. Amazing.

Now, we are home for just a little bit and next week we leave again for Colorado Springs, CO. We will be there for about a week and a half celebrating Christmas with Andrew's side of the family. I am so excited to see all of them, as we haven't seen them since summer! We will drive down to Andrews parents house in southern california and the day after all drive out to Colorado in two days with 4 people and two dogs. WOW, what an adventure! I can't wait to blog about it! :)

Here's Ruthie!

Ruthie is an Australian Shepherd mix - Australian Shepherd, Australian Cattle Dog and Blue Heeler. She really is such a great puppy, despite the many hours I spend with her during the day.

So far she can sit, lay down, stay, and we are teaching her high five. Oh, the joys of training a puppy. They say with her breed they need some type of task. We are contemplating taking her to some kind of class and see what they say about this and just regular good ol' training.  How old is too old to take them into a class? She is four months now.

 Ruthie's mom is a rescued dog, so we got her from an organization just north of here.  The place we got her from called P.E.T.S. (Pets ending the slaughter) mentioned to us that if we bring her back at 4 months, they will spay her for free.  We thought gosh that is great..another reason to go ahead and get her! :) 

Well, we thought we would call a week in advance to make an appointment. I guess you learn from your mistakes, right? For whatever reason, we didn't have a phone number for the place and the email we did have wasn't working. JUST GREAT!! I had the brilliant idea of checking their website.  Well, this is what their website said...we are no longer in service as we are restructuring our company..or something to that effect. Awesome huh? If we spay her at the vets, it's like $300 or $400 ...yeah ok..some friends of ours mentioned to us to get her spayed at a local animal shelter.  This is what we were going to do until today.

Funny thing. I was just checking their website to see what it said and it looks like they are up and running again.  I just finished sending them an email (since there is no phone number) and we will see what they say. I hope it works! :) If not, it's back to the animal shelter for us.

Anyway, we love Ruthie, even though she can be a pain sometimes.  We are anxious to take her up to Portland to meet some more friends. Check out the pictures below. (I have a video clip, but not sure how to post it yet...help!?!)

Bottom's Up.

Hello friends and family.

I'm not exactly sure how to begin a blog, so here it goes. I have been pondering the idea of starting a blog and always wished I was better at journaling. Maybe this will become my "journal", so to speak. I am very excited to share with you my thoughts in life.

Andrew helped me come up with the title of my blog...ok, he basically thought of it! I was trying to be so creative with my word choice: simple. beauty. change. love. live. laughter. hope. I realized these are all things I can blog about in the future, when really my life revolves around those 5 little words: ONE DAY AT A TIME. I guess you could say this has been a life lesson in a sense. Especially throughout my relationship with Andrew. Living one day at a time is so key because it's so easy for us to get ahead of ourselves. I tend to stress out about the future and this is a great constant reminder for me, and for us all. Live in the moment.

Alright, the title of this post is called 'Bottom's Up' for a reason. Today, is Veteran's Day and Andrew didn't have to work. We had a lazy day by just lounging around, watching tv, and cruising the internet! About half way through our day we decided to take our puppy, Ruthie, for a walk. (She will definitely be in posts to come) Well, we ended up on the field where Ruthie loves to run around and unfortunately eat or attempt to eat deer poop...gross! Andrew also loves to run around with Ruthie and see if she can catch up to him (she is fast). Let me just say that Andrew was in flip flops and the grass was a little damp. I think you see where this is going. Oh man, I am laughing to myself just thinking about it. Andrew is running around on the field when out of the blue his right foot slips and falls right into the wet, muddy field. I was already belly laughing at this point, but, he then turns around to look at me, and the fall was so hard that his glasses had fallen all the way down the bridge of his nose. It was hilarious. I was laughing the whole way home. Right then I knew it had to make my blog post and there you have it.
